After weeks of voting, we have finally arrived. Welcome to the finals of the Des Moines Register’s Iowa’s Cutest Cat contest! We’ve narrowed the field from 500 fierce felines down to two cute cats vying for your votes. Our winner will get bragging rights for all time, and will be be featured in a special profile in the Register!
We’d like to once again thank all of you wonderful cat lovers out there for taking the time to share your precious kitties with us. We hope this contest has been as much fun for you to follow as it’s been for us to put on.

Iowa’s Cutest Cat brackets
One last time, let’s break down how we got here. For Round 1 of voting, we had over 500 cats submitted. We then broke all the cute cats down into four groups, with each group having its own poll to vote in. The top 12 vote-getters in each group automatically advanced to the Round of 64. We then took the top remaining 16 vote-getters across all groups to round our bracket out.
The final bracket here shows how voting played out in the Feline Four, and shows the matchup for the finals. You can hover over each matchup below to get to know the cats better before voting. How do I vote for Iowa’s Cutest Cat?
For this round of voting, polls open at noon Friday, Aug. 10. Polls will close at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13. The winner will be announced on Friday, Aug. 14 at noon.
