The highest tornado risk is across the southern half of the state, with a 2–4% probability, while central Iowa faces a 15–29% chance of 60-70 mph winds.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely in Des Moines on Friday night, predominantly before 2 a.m., after a partly sunny day with a high near 86 degrees, according to the NWS office in Des Moines. Saturday, June 6, will also be partly sunny and warm, with a high near 87 degrees. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms returns after 3 p.m., followed by another chance Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a low of 68 degrees.

Showers remain in the forecast Sunday, June 7, with highs near 84 degrees and lows around 67.
