Nevada football player Austin Waldera has been voted the Ames Tribune’s Athlete of the Week winner for the week of Nov. 2-8.
Waldera won Athlete of the Week with 53% of the vote.
He turned in an outstanding all-around game to help the Class 3A No. 7 Nevada football team upset No. 1 Clear Lake in the state quarterfinals on Nov. 7.
Waldera helped Nevada earn a trip to the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls after rushing for 147 yards on 35 carries and throwing a 15-yard touchdown pass. He also made five tackles on defense.
