Iowa women’s basketball welcomed talented 2029 combo guard Kate McDougall on an unofficial visit.
McDougall, who was in town attending the Iowa Elite Camp in Iowa City last weekend, is a 5-foot-10 guard from Washington, Ill.
McDougall plays for Washington High School and for the Indy One AAU program during the summertime. According to Prep Girls Hoops, McDougall ranks as the No. 3 overall player and No. 3 combo guard in Illinois in the 2029 class.
During her freshman season on the varsity squad for Washington, McDougall averaged 5.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per contest on 49% field goal shooting and 46% accuracy from 3-point distance in 35 games played, according to MaxPreps.
While the Hawkeyes have not yet extended an offer to McDougall, she has received scholarship invitations from Toledo, Lindenwood, High Point, Dayton, Eastern Illinois, and Bradley.
Even though the 2029 class is still three years away, it is never too early for head coach Jan Jensen and her staff to start looking toward the future for the next wave of talent to don the black and gold.
Here’s a look at some of McDougall’s freshman season highlights:
