Continuing on its efforts to secure the best talent, the Iowa women’s basketball program extended an offer to highly touted 2029 Illinois combo guard Liv Johnson on Monday.
The 6-foot-1 Johnson stars on the varsity squad at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois, and plays club basketball for the All Iowa Attack, which 2028 shooting guard prospect Kinsley Ketterhagen also plays for. Ketterhagen received an offer from the Hawkeyes on June 27.
While the 2029 class is too early to have an established ranking, Johnson is regarded by Prep Girls Hoops as one of the top prospects in Illinois.
Johnson received the offer after stopping by Iowa City for an unofficial visit. The Hawkeyes join a growing list of powerful programs that have offered, including Minnesota, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.
While Johnson will draw more attention as her recruiting journey continues, the Hawkeyes hope their success in the past few seasons and reputation for developing top-tier talent will make Iowa a desired destination.
Here’s a look at some of Johnson’s highlights:
