The Iowa State women’s basketball team began its offseason with the challenge of having to replace the bulk of its roster with most of the squad hitting the transfer portal.
The Cyclones have landed their first addition.
Former Kent State guard Mya Babbitt announced her commitment to Iowa State on social media on April 9.
Babbitt gives the Cyclones some scoring and some much-needed experience after averaging 11 points per game while starting 60 of the 84 gams she played in the last three seasons.
The Papillion, Neb., native is coming off perhaps her best collegiate season yet when she averaged a team-high 16.1 points per game.
Babbitt also contributed 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game while starting all 30 contests.
Babbitt connected on a Kent State single-season record 83 made 3-pointers during the 2024-25 season.
She joins a Cyclones squad that brings back guards Arianna Jackson, Evangelia Paulk and Freya Jensen. Carlisle native Macy Comito will be a freshman.
