The Iowa Hawkeyes will begin the 2026 college football season ranked inside the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Iowa is ranked as the nation’s No. 22 team in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Hawkeyes enter 2026 after a 9-4 (6-3 Big Ten) campaign that culminated with a win over then-No. 12 Vanderbilt, 34-27. Iowa ended the 2025 campaign ranked as the No. 17 team nationally.
Iowa returns its leading rusher in running back Kamari Moulton, who ran for 878 yards and five touchdowns a season ago. The Hawkeyes also return its leading receiver in tight end DJ Vonnahme, who caught 29 passes for 434 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensively, Iowa returns defensive back Zach Lutmer and linebacker Jayden Montgomery, who totaled 71 and 44 tackles, respectively. Lutmer added seven passes defended and three interceptions, including his pick-six against Minnesota.
