With the excitement bubbling as kickoff for Iowa football’s (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) highly anticipated Oct. 18 prime-time clash against Penn State (3-3, 0-3 Big Ten) inches closer, the Hawkeyes will add another name to the list of top-tier prospects scheduled to be in attendance. Four-star 2028 tight end Jevyn Severson announced on Thursday he would be making a gameday visit.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder from Madrid, Iowa, currently attends Madrid High School, where he is ranked as the No. 62 overall recruit in the 2028 class, as the No. 2 tight end and as the No. 1 prospect in the state of Iowa, per 247Sports.

In his freshman season last year for Madrid, Severson served as a two-way player where he caught five passes for 54 yards and three touchdowns on offense while racking up 34.5 tackles (eight tackles for loss) and 2.5 sacks on defense.
So far in his recruitment, Severson has received offers from six programs, including Iowa State, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Kansas, Kansas State, and fellow Big Ten foes Nebraska and Wisconsin.
Although Iowa has not offered the talented 2028 prospect yet, this weekend seems like the perfect opportunity for Severson to walk away with an offer from the Hawkeyes.
Saturday’s game between the Hawkeyes and Nittany Lions from Kinnick Stadium will begin at 6 p.m. CT and will be streamed exclusively on Peacock.
