The Iowa Hawkeyes are certain to see another crop of talented players find their homes in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, and none may be off the board sooner than Iowa’s unanimous All-American center Logan Jones.
The Rimington Award winner, which is given to college football’s top center, is slated to play on Sundays, and the question now has become how early he gets drafted and which team is going to land his services.
In ESPN’s most recent 2026 NFL mock draft, Matt Miller sees Logan Jones going to the San Francisco 49ers in the second round to join an offense that his skillset blends right into.
58. San Francisco 49ers
Logan Jones, C, Iowa
We’ll stick with OL for the 49ers, who need to fill multiple holes up front if they want to remain a Super Bowl contender. Jones is a plug-and-play starter with the agility to thrive in Kyle Shanahan’s scheme. – Matt Miller, ESPN
Kyle Shanahan’s offense carries similarities to what Matt LaFleur runs up north in Green Bay. That is intriguing as Tim Lester, Iowa’s offensive coordinator, carries many similarities to that scheme from his time in Green Bay before joining the Hawkeyes.
