Iowa basketball among final 10 schools for top 2027 talent

Iowa basketball is one of the final 10 choices for top-20 guard Jalen Davis out of Bremerton High School in Washington.

Davis, who is slated to visit Iowa on Oct. 3, revealed his final 10 schools to Rivals’ Joe Tipton on Thursday. Iowa joins Ole Miss, Stanford, UCLA, Gonzaga, Texas Tech, BYU, USC, Washington and TCU among Davis’ 10 finalists.

Davis will also take official visits to OIe Miss on Sept. 12, to Stanford on Sept. 26, to UCLA on Oct. 16 and to Gonzaga on Nov. 7. The 6-foot-3 guard has already taken an official visit to Washington.

Davis is ranked as the nation’s No. 17 player, as the No. 3 combo guard and as the top player in Washington, per 247Sports. According to Rivals, Davis is the country’s No. 20 player, the No. 7 point guard and the top player in Washington.

Davis is a five-star prospect per 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Davis impressed with his play during the Adidas 3SSB season with Slow Grind Elite, averaging 24.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.8 steals per game this summer.

Iowa is also still involved with five-star guard Cayden Daughtry and four-star guard Jaxson Davis. Daughtry will visit Iowa on Sept. 11-13, while Davis will visit the Hawkeyes on Sept. 19.
