Fever lose star to injury for remainder of season

With just three games left in the 2025 WNBA regular season, the Indiana Fever (21-20) announced yet another crushing blow to the team’s overall depth. The Fever have suffered their fourth season-ending injury of the campaign.

The team revealed in a statement Thursday morning that sharpshooting forward Chloe Bibby will miss the remainder of the season with a left knee injury. After Bibby reported left knee discomfort before the Aug. 20 game against Minnesota, the wing has not played in any games since.

Bibby sees her 2025 season conclude by averaging 3.9 points and 1.2 rebounds on 35.7% field goal shooting and 39.1% 3-point territory accuracy during her nine games played with the Fever.

The Australian-born wing signed with the Fever on July 25 via a seven-day contract, which later evolved into a rest-of-season deal following impressive contributions off the bench.

In its statement, the Fever revealed that they had signed former 2025 second-round draft pick Bree Hall to a rest-of-season contract, which will make the 6-foot-1 guard eligible for the WNBA Playoffs.

Hall was chosen by Indiana with the No. 20 overall selection in the 2025 WNBA draft after winning two national championships with South Carolina, but was waived by the team during training camp.

This season, Hall has appeared in three games for the Golden State Valkyries across two seven-day hardship contracts, where she averaged 1.0 points and 0.7 rebounds per game, before being cut by the Valkyries on Sept. 1.

Luckily for the Fever, who are desperate for a win to help potentially seal the deal on playoff qualification, the team will have an excellent chance with a matchup on Friday versus the Chicago Sky (10-30) from Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
