IOWA CITY — The Seattle Seahawks selected Iowa offensive lineman Beau Stephens in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. He was the 148th overall pick.
Stephens made 34 starts in his Hawkeye career, appearing at both left and right guard.
Stephens was a part of a successful offensive line rebuild under position coach George Barnett. After performing below the program standard, Iowa’s offensive line returned to dominant form in 2024 and 2025. The group won the 2025 Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the most outstanding offensive line in college football.
Stephens earned national recognition individually, as well. He was named an AP first-team All-American last season.
Now, Stephens takes the next step in his football career.

Overview
Stephens plays with a strong grasp for angles, tempo and timing for his block fits. He’s able to sustain and finish at a good rate despite having average play strength. However, his comfort level and consistency drop somewhat when working beyond inside/outside zone. He’s well-postured and plays with balance in pass pro. His lack of length will become more noticeable once he hits the pros, though. Short arms, average athleticism and scheme-friendly surroundings could temper his draft slotting, but Stephens has a chance to eventually become a starter if he finds the right team fit.
