Making the NCAA Women’s Tournament is not a question that the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s college basketball team is currently pondering. The biggest question remaining is what seed Jan Jensen’s squad could get, and just how solidified is it that they could host games?
In ESPN’s bracketology, Iowa remained as a No. 3 seed, despite the two losses to USC and UCLA. In this week’s CBS Sports women’s bracketology, Iowa actually holds on to the No. 2 seed line, despite CBS worrying about some recent shakiness from the Hawkeyes.
So, which teams are “locks” for a hosting spot, and who is still alive in the race? At this point, all teams currently projected as No. 1 and No. 2 seeds are almost guaranteed to host. Iowa is the rockiest of the bunch following an 0-2 week but still boasts six Quad-1 wins. – Connor Groel, CBS Sports
CBS puts Iowa as a No. 2 seed alongside LSU, Louisville, and Michigan. In this rendition of the bracket, Iowa would draw a first-round matchup against the No. 15 Quinnipiac Bobcats. Should Iowa be able to take care of business there, next up would be a showdown between the winner of No. 7 Princeton and No. 10 Mississippi State for a trip to the Sweet 16.
