Iowa football tight end Addison Ostrenga was carted off the field after being evaluated in the medical tent in the first quarter against Iowa State in the 2025 Cy-Hawk game.
Before the end of the second quarter, the team announced that Ostrenga would not return to the game.
The Hawkeyes tight end didn’t have a catch but was getting looked at by the program’s medical staff following the team’s second drive of the game. He was targeted on third down and appeared to suffer a left leg/foot injury.

Addison Ostrenga injury update
Ostrenga appeared to be injured after being targeted on a third down, during which he landed hard on his left leg after failing to make the contested catch.
The FOX broadcast confirmed Ostrenga going into the locker room and Iowa later confirmed he would not return to the game.
Iowa is deep at the tight end position. Five Iowa tight ends saw meaningful snaps last week — Ostrenga 43, Hayden Large 31, D.J. Vonnahme 22, Zach Ortwerth 17 and Michael Burt seven. Ostrenga, Large and Ortwerth had one catch apiece.
