Dublin Bay Irish Pub & Grill is the heart of St. Patrick’s Day in Ames, and 2026 is shaping up to be no exception. The pub plans a full day of entertainment on St. Patrick’s Day proper on Tuesday, March 17, starting with Irish breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Sam’s Place keeps the celebration going on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) with Ride On Live performing from 9 p.m. to midnight. Green beer and drink specials help set the mood. Sam’s Place is a great pick for anyone who wants to end the holiday with live music and a friendly crowd.
Hunt for St. Patrick’s Day treasure at McFarland Park
Families can head outdoors with Story County Conservation on St. Patrick’s Day for the Great Green Geocache at McFarland Park. The event starts at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, sending participants along scenic trails for clues and hidden “gold.” The fee is $5 per family or group.
