Without leading scorer, Butler basketball can't close out Seton Hall as losing streak continues

INDIANAPOLIS — Playing without leading scorer Finley Bizjack, Butler basketball fell apart late, falling to Seton Hall 63-56.

The loss is Butler’s sixth in a row, as it falls to 13-13, 4-11 in Big East play, and coach Thad Matta remains stuck on 499 career wins.

Michael Ajayi led Butler 21 points and 10 rebounds.

What Butler basketball’s loss vs. Seton Hall means

Butler is still playing hard for Matta, but the team is not good enough to overcome its injury issues. Players like Butler and freshmen Keith and Oliogu-Elabor are playing minutes about their skill levels.

The Dawgs have not quit, but a once promising season has officially gone off the rails.
