Where Notre Dame landed in CBS Sports post-spring all-team rankings

It’s pretty safe to say that Notre Dame football is expected to be one of the best teams in the country this coming season, and CBS Sports agrees with that assessment.

On Wednesday they dropped their complete rankings, and only Ohio State, Texas, and Oregon were ranked ahead of the Irish. None of their experts voted for Notre Dame to be the top school, as the Buckeyes, Longhorns, Ducks and Miami each received votes.

Looking at the 2026 schedule, Notre Dame is set to face off against their No. 7 Miami, No. 15 BYU, and No. 20 SMU, giving them a very difficult slate. There will be no questions if the Irish earn a berth into the College Football Playoff, and even with two-losses, they still should get in due to the strength of the schedule.
