The Indiana Pacers have a chance to reach the NBA Finals after a quarter-century away when they visit the New York Knicks for Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday night, May 29, at Madison Square Garden.
Indiana owns a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series after a 130-121 Game 4 win powered by stellar performances from Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam, grit from Aaron Nesmith and a spark off the bench from Bennedict Mathurin.
The Knicks have gotten consistently strong efforts from Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, but that hasn’t been enough to overcome Indiana so far.

Pacers vs. Knicks expert predictions, picks for today, May 29
Dustin Dopirak, IndyStar: Pacers 119-110
“The Pacers know they’re going to be dealing with a desperate team elevated by a raucous home crowd at Madison Square Garden, and they know the Knicks still have All-NBA players in Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. So they’re fully aware they’re not in any position to exhale. But they are in control of this series and they fixed what ailed them in Game 3 — when they allowed the game to slow to the Knicks’ pace. They’re aware they must keep running and they should be able to do that, even in the Garden. The Knicks are certain to have a push left in them, but if the Pacers can withstand early punches, that should be enough for them to outlast New York and advance to the NBA Finals.”
