Indiana football will have a rematch of sorts against Indiana State on Friday night at Memorial Stadium. The two programs faced off in 2023 in a Friday night showdown with the Hoosiers winning 41-7 and improving to 7-0 all-time in the series.
The No. 19 Hoosiers (2-0) are looking to win their first three games in back-to-back season for the first time since 2009-10. They have won 10 straight at home to tie a program record that dates back to 1987-88.

Indiana 63, Indiana State 0: This one wasn’t expected to be competitive even with Indiana State’s starting quarterback Elijah Owens in the lineup. He suffered a collarbone injury last week that will sideline him for Friday night’s game, an injury that adds to the Herculean task the Sycamores face in trying to upset the No. 19 team in the country.
The Hoosiers will look to put a pin in this one by halftime to get their starters extra rest heading into conference play. Those will be important reps for Cignetti’s reserves who have only played a handful of snaps this season.
