WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — West Lafayette plans to expand its Fire Station No. 3 on Kalberer Road, and city officials are asking for public input.
“As West Lafayette continues to grow — particularly north of Kalberer Road — our emergency response infrastructure must grow with it,” the city states on its WL move website. “This project expands Fire Station No. 3’s capacity to support new development, prioritize firefighter health and safety, and strengthen our ability to serve residents in the northern third of the city.”
The public input session will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the John R. Dennis Wellness Center at 1101 Kalberer Road, which is across the street from the fire station.
For those unable to attend the session in person, there is an online version to see the project and offer input. It can be found at the website at https://wlmoves.com/project/west-lafayette-fire-station-no-3-expansion-virtual-input-session/
Residents also may email their comments and concerns to development@westlafayette.in.gov, or they may call 765-775-5160.
The input session includes a presentation of the current project plans, updates on the design and construction timelines. Those attending also will have the opportunity to ask questions.
The project expands on the current fire station, which opened in 2013.
