The high school sports fall season has officially arrived.
The Courier & Press has begun preparations for our 2025 season coverage. First up in volleyball was a players to watch list and soon followed by the top teams in Southwestern Indiana. But who gets the nod for top player? This is where you came in.
Gibson Southern junior Addy Snow was voted the Courier & Press preseason Player of the Year. The outside hitter received 24,568 votes from nearly 64,000 cast. The High Point commit is one of the top attackers in the Pocket Athletic Conference and earned Second Team All-PAC honors last year
Shay Hawk of Washington was the runner-up with 17,445 votes.
A reminder, this has zero bearing on who will be selected as the Metro Player of the Year after the season. This is pure bragging rights.

Shae Bailey, Tecumseh: The senior outside hitter had 305 kills, 304 digs and 45 aces for the Braves.
Kenlee Barnard, North: The senior had 187 kills, 261 digs, 370 assists and 70 blocks for the Huskies.
Mia Becher, Heritage Hills: The junior middle hitter had 194 kills and 33 blocks for the Patriots.
Nora Breitwieser, Jasper: The junior libero had 428 digs, 110 kills, 69 assists and 57 aces for the Wildcats.
Addie Cox, Southridge: The junior had 225 kills, 340 digs and 31 aces for the Raiders.
Siri Fullop, North Posey: The senior setter had 998 assists, 276 digs and 48 aces for the Vikings.
Shay Hawk, Washington: The senior had 466 digs, 65 assists and 53 aces for the Hatchets.
Leah Heldman, Mater Dei: The junior opposite hitter had 156 kills and 46 digs for the Wildcats.
Maria Hillenbrand, Memorial: The senior opposite hitter had 202 kills, 33 digs and 26 blocks for the Tigers.
Addison Jones, Barr-Reeve: The senior outside hitter had 363 kills, 330 digs, 122 blocks and 51 aces for the Vikings.
Mallory Luigs, North Posey: The senior had 565 digs and 28 aces for the Vikings.
Reese Parsons, Reitz: The senior had 196 kills, 55 blocks and 20 aces for the Panthers.
Libby Ryan, North: The senior had 198 kills, 76 digs and 70 blocks for the Huskies.
Addy Snow, Gibson Southern: The junior outside hitter was a Second Team All-PAC selection and committed to High Point.
Karsyn Wilhelmus, Castle: The senior libero had 233 digs and 46 aces for the Knights.
Lydia Wilson, Tecumseh: The senior libero had 392 digs, 103 assists and 43 aces for the Braves.
