Wes-Del wrestler Paislee Chambers has been voted The Star Press East Central Indiana high school Athlete of the Week for Dec. 29-Jan. 3, brought to you by IU Health.
Chambers won the 170-pound weight class sectional championship at the Muncie Central sectional on Friday, Jan. 2. She won all three of her bouts via first-period pinfalls including a 1-minute, 27-second pin in the championship bout.
Chambers received 18,556 votes out of 47,727 votes cast (38.88%). This week’s runner-up was Daleville wrestler Kynlie Keffer, who gathered 14,753 votes (30.91%).
Students in all varsity sports are eligible to be nominated and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport. Athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.
