Top South Bend-area high school sports performances, Jan. 19-24, 2026

This is a daily list of top high school sports performers for boys and girls basketball, boys and girls swimming and boys wrestling in the South Bend area for January 19-24, 2026, from information provided to The South Bend Tribune by coaches, athletic directors and team statisticians, as well as through social media.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Saturday, Jan. 24

Caleb Coolman, Makale Price, Penn: Coolman had 31 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals in a 96-65 win over Fort Wayne Wayne. Price added 21 points for the Kingsmen.

Friday, Jan. 23

Chase Devine, Bremen: Devine had a game-high 16 points as the Lions topped Triton 47-42 in a semifinal game of the Bi-County Tournament. Bremen will play Culver in the tourney title game Saturday night at LaVille High School at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Brady Scholl, Northridge: Scholl poured in 27 points as the Raiders beat Mishawaka 81-40 in a Northern Lakes Conference game. Northridge improved to 13-1 overall and moved to 3-1 in the NLC.

Gage Riffle, Triton: Riffle had a team-high 14 points in a 47-42 loss to Bremen in semifinal action of the Bi-County Tournament.

Alonzo Newbern, Keaton Anderson, Elkhart: Newbern scored 16 points and Anderson 15 as the Lions beat South Bend Adams 62-53 in a Northern Indiana Conference contest.

Michael George, Jarvis Tolbert, South Bend Adams: George netted 17 points and Tolbert added 16 in a 62-53 loss to Elkhart in NIC action.

Tuesday, Jan. 20

Levi Sawatzky, Goshen: Sawatzky poured in 24 points to lead his team to a 59-47 win over Tippecanoe Valley. The senior guard went over 1,000 career points in the game to become the eighth boys player in program history to do so. Goshen improved to 11-1.

Riley Tener, Bryce Miller, Bremen: Tener hit a game winning 3-pointer with a second to play as the Lions topped New Prairie 52-49 in a first-round game of the Bi-County Tournament. Miller led the Lions with 15 points. Bremen will play Triton Friday night in the semifinals at LaVille.

Brady Wood, Julian Swanson, Jayden Overmyer, Triton: Wood had 18 points to lead the Trojans past LaVille 66-45 in first-round play of the Bi-County Tournament. Both Swanson and Overmyer had 14 points for the Trojans, who play Bremen Friday night in the tourney semifinals at LaVille.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Saturday, Jan. 24

Chloe Horton, Lydia Wray, Plymouth: Horton had 14 points and eight rebounds in a 43-34 win over Wawasee in Northern Lakes Conference play. Wray added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for Plymouth.

Addie Davis, NorthWood: Davis netted 14 points in a 48-26 win over Goshen in Northern Lakes Conference action.

Lily Scholl, Northridge: Scholl poured in 26 points in a 74-63 loss at Fort Wayne Snider. The Raiders dropped to 16-6.

Friday, Jan. 23

Lily Scholl, Northridge: Scholl canned 21 points as the Raiders topped Mishawaka 63-13 in Northern Lakes Conference play. Northridge moved to 16-5 overall and 5-1 in the NLC.

Thursday, Jan. 22

Isis Robbins, Trenyce Harris, Elkhart: Robbins and Harris each scored 12 points as Elkhart topped South Bend Adams 49-46 Northern Indiana Conference play. Elkhart improved to 14-6 overall and finished 6-1 in NIC play to finish in second place behind champion Penn.

Eliana Grubbs, Bremen: Grubbs had 11 points as the Lions beat LaVille 45-35 in a semifinal game of the Bi-County Tournament. Bremen, which improved to 19-1, will play John Glenn in the championship game Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. at LaVille High School.

Arianna Stanley, John Glenn: Stanley had 15 points as the Falcons topped Oregon-Davis 42-40 in a semifinal game of the Bi-County Tournament. Glenn advances to play Bremen in the title game Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. at LaVille High School.

Sierra Hawley, Triton: Hawley had 15 points as Triton beat New Prairie 43-26 in a consolation game of the Bi-County Tournament.

Tuesday, Jan. 20

Denni Markin, Lexi McQueen, LaVille: Markin scored 12 points and McQueen 11 as the Lancers beat Triton 46-40 in a first-round game of the Bi-County Tournament.

Kya Shier, Shelby Laubach, Mallory Schrock, Edwardsburg: Shier had 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 62-58 win over Paw Paw. Laubach scored 20 points and Schrock 18 for the Eddies.
