The hills of southern Indiana look different than the manufacturing industry-dotted lakeshore in northwest Indiana or the at-times crowded suburban streets of Indianapolis’ doughnut counties.
Our IndyStar politics team members all call central Indiana home, but every election season we’re tasked with writing about how people all over the state feel about the candidates and the issues. And Hoosiers’ beliefs across the state vary as much as its geography.
To better understand what issues drive voters, our team will be visiting different parts of the state throughout September and October as we prepare for the upcoming legislative session and another election year. Each week, we’ll write about what we learned during our visits and use that knowledge to inform our coverage.
