The South Bend Community School Corp. board will host a public work session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at the Brown Administration Building, 737 Beale St.
The meeting’s press release doesn’t list a topic for Tuesday’s work session, and an agenda hasn’t been published on BoardDocs as of 1 p.m. Monday. But board Vice President Bill Sniadecki told The Tribune in a text that the board will discuss goals for the superintendent evaluations that trustees conduct each year.
According to board policies, the board is responsible for establishing the goals and metrics for these evaluations.
While discussing the district’s mission statement during a board meeting on July 9, board President Jeanette McCullough said the board would hold a work session on July 15 “to, hopefully, come up and fine-tune our plan … (and) goals and objectives that we’re looking forward to incorporating and putting into place.”
Work sessions usually include a presentation from the district on the chosen topic, and there will also be an opportunity for board members and community members to make comments and ask questions in a less structured environment than a regular board meeting. The board does not take any votes on action items during work sessions.
The meeting will also be live-streamed on the district’s YouTube channel.
