Semi driver charged with murder in Indianapolis woman's Richmond death

RICHMOND, IN — A semi driver has been charged with murder in the June 24 death of an Indianapolis woman who was pronounced dead at Richmond’s Reid Hospital.

LaDavid Jaron Shaw, — a 38-year-old resident of Jackson, Mississippi — is also charged with tampering with evidence and resisting arrest in Eaton (Ohio) Municipal Court.

The charges stem from the death of 36-year-old Shanae Robinson of Indianapolis.

Robinson’s body was found on the evening of June 24 in a semi outside the Petro Travel Center in New Paris, Ohio, just east of the Indiana-Ohio state line.

She was taken by ambulance to the Richmond hospital. According to Wayne County Coroner Brent Meadows, after she was pronounced dead, Robinson’s body was taken to the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio, for a “forensic autopsy and confirmatory identification.”

Shaw is also accused of crashing the semi in a bid to cover up the cause of the Indianapolis woman’s death.

According to prosecutors, Shaw admitted strangling Robinson, while parked outside the Petro Travel Center, because she wouldn’t “shut up.”

The Mississippi man was shocked with an electric stun device several times as he struggled with officers trying to take him into custody, according to court papers filed by prosecutors, who also allege he damaged the interior of a police car he was placed in, and was also bitten by a police K-9.

Shaw is being held in the Preble County Jail in Eaton.
