WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — Purdue University will host an early voting site on its campus, as well as on primary election day this May.
The university said in a news release Friday that on April 21, the Córdova Recreational Sports Center at 355 N. Martin Jischke Drive will be open for early voting from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The CoRec will also be open for voting on primary Election Day, May 5, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the release said. Anyone who is registered to vote in Tippecanoe County will be able to vote there.
The university will reserve a number of parking spaces for voters just north and northwest of the CoRec along the access drive off North Martin Jischke Drive and in the lot on the southeast side of Rankin Track and Field Complex, the release said.
Voters are advised to enter the CoRec from the east entrance along North Martin Jischke Drive, the release said. Anyone in line by 4 p.m. April 21 or by 6 p.m. May 5 will be allowed to vote if their registration and identification meet the requirements.
On Tuesday, a federal judge blocked the enforcement of a law that prevented students from using their college IDs to vote, allowing voters to begin using their IDs to vote in the upcoming primary.
Last year, Gov. Mike Braun signed Senate Bill 10, which prevents college students from using their state university-issued ID as a form of identification at the voting booth. Advocacy organizations and an Indiana University junior sued Secretary of State Diego Morales and other Indiana election officials, arguing that the law discriminates against and deprives students and young voters of their right to vote.
In a news release issued Thursday, Randy Vonderheide, chairman of the Tippecanoe County Board of Elections, said staff and poll workers immediately began complying with the court order as soon as they received notice.
