Notre Dame’s CJ Carr extremely comfortable and confident entering 2026

For the first time this fall, Notre Dame football’s starting quarterback CJ Carr was available to the media following Friday’s practice.

There was an aura of confidence from the Irish star, as this camp has been much different. Carr doesn’t have to fight for his spot, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t working hard at perfecting his craft. When asked about being the quarterback at Notre Dame, he said “it’s amazing,” with a big grin on his face.

Carr would then speak about the university and people being the best, as you can see a different mindset. While the battle made him better last year and had to earn the spot, he looks like he’s ready for the season to start already. One of the best things for him is the Irish defense, as the secondary is regarded as one of the best in the country. Carr goes against them every practice, only making himself better.

It’s hard to not imagine him taking a jump this fall, going from great to elite status. Carr is putting himself in the conversation for multiple awards along with a high pick in next year’s NFL draft. It’s going to be a fun season in South Bend with him behind the wheel.
