Family is important to Kelsey Webber — evident in the name of her new floral shop: Three Blondes Floral Co.
It’s named for her three daughters, Caroline, Ainsley and Collins. Webber is a Bloomington native, graduate of Bloomington High School North and Indiana University. She and her husband, Michael, moved back to Bloomington from Golden, Colorado.
Kelsey Webber started an unofficial “flower farm” in the front yard of her Bloomington home in 2020 and began selling flowers. That culminated in an idea to not only sell her flower but other flowers, mostly from local growers. Add in custom floral design and open retail space at 217 W. Sixth St., Suite 3, and the result is Three Blondes Floral.
In addition to a flower “bar” where people can purchase a single flower or a grouping of their choice and custom floral designs, Three Blondes has curated gifts, cards, prints, candles, books and vases. The “bar” flowers are $2 for 1, except for the roses. Grab-and-go bouquets are available and Webber is happy to make an arrangement for walk-in customers.
Webber currently is purchasing flowers from six local growers with hopes of adding a few more.
“I try to do seasonal designs,” she said recently. “If it could be growing on a farm in our area, that’s what I want to use.”
The shop’s website, www.threeblondesfloralco.com, also has arrangements starting at about $75 and bouquets at about $40. Delivery is available in about a 10-mile radius of the downtown Bloomington shop. People can sign up for a flower subscription, receiving flowers weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
Webber also offers floral design classes and other workshop in the store, with an open studio from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Besides sharing design techniques, Webber offers tips for growing various types of flowers. She’s also providing flower arrangements for bridal shows, baby showers and weddings.
“I cater to any budget or level of event,” Webber said.
