MUNCIE, IN — Three Muncie residents shot on the early morning of Sunday, July 19, remain hospitalized on Monday.
The shootings were reported about 1 a.m. Sunday in the area of First and Ebright streets in the Industry neighborhood.
On Monday, Melissa Criswell, deputy police chief, said the most seriously injured of the victims, a 19-year-old Muncie man, is in critical condition.
The other two victims — 22 and 18 years old, respectively — were both listed in stable condition Monday.
All three victims were taken by ambulance to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, and two of the men were reportedly later transferred to Indianapolis hospitals.
In the wake of the shooting, a large section of the Industry neighborhood — bounded by Hackley Street on the west, Beacon Street on the east and Kirby Avenue on the south — was marked off with yellow crime-scene tape.
No related arrests had been announced as of Monday afternoon.
