McDonald's offers free drinks, Memorial Day deals, new menus at restaurants

Free McDonald’s drinks, deals for veterans and National Hamburger Month and summer menus are among the offerings at Indiana restaurants.

McDonald’s is sampling its new specialty drinks inside the restaurants on May 21 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Drinks being sampled vary by location.

In the Indianapolis area, guests can try the Strawberry Watermelon Refresher, which blends sweet strawberry and watermelon flavors with a lemonade base with freeze‑dried strawberries added.

It’s one of six specialty drinks the chain launched at U.S. stores in early May.

What are McDonald’s new specialty drinks?

The lineup includes three crafted sodas and three lemonade-based refreshers, which contain caffeine:

Memorial Day restaurant deals

Hooters Memorial Day special 

On May 25, Hooters customers can get a burger, curly fries and a fountain soda or freshly-brewed iced tea for $9.99.  The deal is valid from 11 a.m. to close and for dine-in only.

Veterans and active-duty military receive 20% off their meal with ID.  

Blaze Pizza Memorial Day donation 

On May 25, Blaze Pizza will donate $1 from every 11-inch pizza sold at participating U.S. locations to Folds of Honor, which helps fund educational scholarships for the families of fallen and disabled military service members and first responders.

Kona Grill Memorial Day specials 

Kona Grill invites to celebrate Memorial Day weekend with us!

From May 22 through May 25, veterans and active-duty military, reserves and first responders can get a complimentary entree from Kona Grill’s select menu with the purchase of an appetizer or starter. 

The offer is valid for dine-in only to those showing military or veteran ID or proof of employment as a first responder.

National Hamburger Day deals

National Hamburger Day is May 28. Opportunities to get more bang for your buck include:

Red Robin’s Burger Month deal

For the month of May, Red Robin Royalty members can earn 2x points when they make two or more purchases for dine-in or to-go.

The chain also continues its Big YUMMM deal, featuring a Red’s Double Burger, bottomless side and bottomless beverage for $9.99. 

Rally’s BOGO burger deal

Rally’s is observing National Hamburger Day with a Buy One, Get One offer on a Classic Burger May 27-28.

Burger King free burger offer

On May 28, Burger King’s Royal Perks members can get a free hamburger with any purchase of at least $3 at participating restaurants nationwide.

Additionally, through June 13, Royal Perks members who make a $10 purchase can unlock up to four months of Spotify Premium for free.

Friendly’s restaurant chain kicked off its Star-Spangled Summer menu on May 20.

On May 20, P.F. Chang’s rolled out new menu items. Highlights include the new Smoking Kung Pao Dragon Roll, returning fan favorites like Pork Belly Bao Buns and Longlife Noodles & Prawns and new cocktails and refreshers such as the Sakura Spritz, Shanghai Nights, Lychee Lemonade with popping boba and Dragon Fruit Crush.
