GRANGER — The man alleged to have fired a gun at the Indiana 23 and North Fir Road intersection has been arrested on suspicion of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
The following events are according to a press release from the St. Joseph County Police Department:
Around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, St. Joseph County Police responded to a call reporting gun shots and a man walking in the road and the surrounding area with a handgun.
By the time police arrived, the man they suspected was no longer in the area. Officers began searching the area with a drone and dog and ultimately found the accused. He was taken into custody “without incident.” And as The Tribune previously reported, questioned by police.
The case is now being forwarded to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office, where the decision will be made whether to charge him with a crime.
