At 6 years and 9 months old, this striking Husky has been a resident at the Humane Society since the end of December 2024, making him the longest-staying pup currently on site. While others come and go, Max still waits — tail wagging, eyes bright, and heart wide open.
Max came to the shelter through no fault of his own. Max is incredibly playful and energetic, a free spirit with that classic Husky independence. He may not be everyone’s idea of an “easy” dog, but for the right person, Max is everything: loyal, loving, and full of character.
Max loves his toys — and he knows what he likes. He can be picky with treats, but once you find the right one, his joy is contagious. He keeps his kennel remarkably clean, suggesting he’s likely house-trained, and thrives on routine and respect for his space.
Max would do best in a home without other dogs or small children, where he can enjoy life at his own pace. He does have a protective streak and may resource guard, so he’s looking for an experienced adopter who can understand and respect his boundaries.
