LAFAYETTE, IN — The Indiana University Health Arnett Urgent Care facility in Lafayette will reopen in August after closing in mid-May because of staffing shortages, a spokesperson said Tuesday.
For nearly two months, a sign has been posted on the glass door of the building at 1 Walter Scholer Drive in Lafayette, advertising its closure and saying it would open in the fall.
The spokesperson, who confirmed the closing was because of a staffing shortage, said decision makers at IU Health established Aug. 4 as the reopening date Tuesday morning, saying staff will be replenished by then. The primary care wing in the same building has been and will remain open.
The summer closure, which the spokesperson said was not influenced by the seasonal exodus of Purdue students from campus, has limited urgent care options for those living on the city’s southwest side — the nearest such facility is an eight-minute drive from IU Health at Fast Pace Health Urgent Care.
