INDOT meeting set April 14 on roundabout proposed for U.S. 35

MUNCIE, IN — The Indiana Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting on Tuesday, April 14, about a roundabout proposed for the intersection of U.S. 35 and Delaware County Road 300 South.

The meeting will be at Inspire Academy, 2801 E. 16th St., and “will provide an opportunity for the public to interact with the project team, ask questions and receive the latest updates on the project,” according to an INDOT release.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with a presentation starting at 6 p.m.

INDOT is proposing a single-lane roundabout at the intersection, along with raised medians on the approaches to help guide traffic movements and improve safety.

“The project aims to address a high number of injury crashes while maintaining efficient traffic flow along the U.S. 35 corridor,” the release said.

Fifteen crashes occurred at the intersection between 2019 and 2021, including six with injuries. The intersection now operates as a two-way stop.
