As of Monday morning, the Indianapolis Colts are no longer a playoff team following their Week 14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Before the Philadelphia Eagles vs. LA Chargers Monday Night Football game takes place, the now 8-5 Colts are the eighth seed in the AFC playoff picture.
The Colts are tied record-wise with the 8-5 Houston Texans, but Houston holds the head-to-head tie-breaker at the moment.
A Chargers loss to drop them to 8-5 on the season would be helpful for the Colts.
However, even with the Colts still in the mix for a playoff spot, this team faces far more questions than answers.
Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the team’s loss to Jacksonville. As of now, rookie Riley Leonard is the next man up at quarterback.
The Colts also face a very difficult schedule to close out the season with matchups against Seattle, San Francisco, Jacksonville, and Houston — all of whom are over .500 and are current playoff teams in their respective conferences.
Not long ago, the Colts held the one seed in the AFC, and the playoffs seemed like a foregone conclusion. Now that is far from the case.
