The new 247sports national top-150 rankings for the 2027 high school basketball class were released on Thursday and there are several players with in-state ties listed.
Marcus Spears Jr., a 6-9 forward who plays for Dynamic Prep in Dallas, Texas, is the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2027 class. He is followed by Beckham Black, the younger brother of Orlando Magic’s Anthony Black, of Southeastern Prep in Orlando.
The top 15 players received five-star status. Pike 7-footer Isaiah Hill, a Purdue recruit, is just outside that designation as the No. 18 prospect in the class by 247sports.
Just five spots behind Hill, at No. 23, is Indiana recruit Chase Branham of Rogersville, Mo. The 6-4 Branham rose four spots since the previous rankings were released.
Jason Gardner Jr. is No. 68 in the 2027 rankings by 247sports. The 6-1 guard only played in seven games last season for Fishers due to a broken bone in his left hand.
Just behind Gardner Jr. is 6-2 guard Jahari Miller, who averaged 14.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game as a junior at Pike. Miller is ranked No. 73.
Evansville native Jaylan Mitchell, formerly of Evansville Reitz, is No. 111 on the list. The 6-7 Mitchell went to Overtime Prep in Atlanta last year.
Also of note:
>>>Hill is one of just three players in the top 20 who are committed for college. Ryan Hampton (Kentucky, No. 12) and Javon Bardwell (Kansas, No. 15) are the others.
>>>La Lumiere has two players ranked: No. 34 Devin Cleveland and No. 64 Ferlandes Wright. The 6-7 Wright is committed to Louisville.
>>>Fishers guard Cooper Zachary is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 210 overall prospect in the country by 247sports.
