The Indiana Fever’s season may be over, but nothing stops Sophie Cunningham from stirring things up.
The guard whose season ended early because of a knee injury started a GoFundMe on Oct. 2, supposedly to pay off various fines she has accumulated this year … for a TikTok, comments made on her podcast, etc.
“This is more of a joke than anything. For fines only or to charity or for a yacht idk….,” she said in the GoFundMe post.
She reiterated that it’s a gag a few minutes later. She knows she doesn’t need to ask others to pay her debts to the WNBA. Cunningham made $100,000 in 2025 and could re-sign with the Fever in 2026.
Cunningham, who averaged 8.6 points on 43.2% 3-point shooting and 3.0 rebounds in 30 games, set a goal of $26,000 and had received close to $3,000 in the opening hours despite noting it is a joke.
