How much snow has fallen so far in South Bend?

SOUTH BEND — The city saw an average of 6 inches of snow this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. That’s the 72-hour total between Jan. 24 and 26.

Most of that total, 5 inches, fell in the last 24 hours, NWS reports.

So far this winter, South Bend has seen 5 feet, 9 inches of snow, NWS reports.

How much more snow is on the way?

The Tribune’s newsgathering partner WNDU-TV reports another 5-7 inches of snow could fall Monday in the northern half of St. Joseph County, with 8-10 inches in Berrien and Cass counties and the northern portion of LaPorte County. The southern half of St. Joseph County could see 2-4 inches.

Extreme cold and wind chills are expected to continue Monday.

Scattered snow is predicted for Tuesday, WNDU reports, with snow possible again on Wednesday.
