WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — Visitors of the Purdue Research Park could soon have a new hotel option within walking distance to the West Lafayette research campus.
Holiday Inn Express will build a new hotel at 1431 Win Hentschel Blvd., according to a building permit filed with the city of West Lafayette, positioned on a vacant lot at the corner with Kent Avenue. The estimated cost of the new hotel is $4.4 million.
Jo Wade, president of Visit Lafayette-West Lafayette, said based on preliminary data available to the tourism bureau, the new Holiday Inn Express is expected to add 96 rooms to Tippecanoe County’s hotel portfolio. Construction is expected to begin in February 2027 and be completed by August 2028.
“It will be the 13th upper midscale property in the Tippecanoe County market,” Wade said.
The Holiday Inn Express follows recent openings of Home2Suites by Hilton and TownPlace Suites Marriott, Wade said, as development continues in that corridor of Sagamore Parkway West.
Requests to Holiday Inn Express parent company IHG Hotels and Resorts for more information regarding a timeline on the development have not been returned.
