EVANSVILLE — The Indiana Statewide Independent Living Council will host a disability town hall in Evansville this month.
The event, sponsored by AARP Indiana, is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 601 Walnut St.
Panelists will include Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry, State Rep. Alex Burton, retired Toyota executive Ted Brown and Evansville City Council President Ben Trockman.
Attendees will have the chance to speak directly with the panel, asking questions and sharing their experiences.
“Discussion topics will include healthcare, transportation, and other key priorities that impact the independence and quality of life of people with disabilities,” the Indiana Statewide Independent Living Council stated in a news release.
Indiana Statewide Independent Living Council Executive Director Mike Foddrill said events such as the town hall are essential as a way to make sure policymakers hear about the daily lives of those living with a disability.
The event is free and open to the public, with an online registration form available at form.jotform.com/252234731471149 .
ASL interpreters and Communication Access Realtime Translation services will be provided. Additional accommodation requests can be directed to Info@INSILC.org.
