LAFAYETTE, IN — Land O Lakes and one of its owners, Keystone Cooperative, helped ease hunger in the area with a donation of 40,000 pounds of macaroni and cheese box dinners and a $6,000 cash donation to Food Finders Food Bank in Lafayette.
“This donation will help families in both rural and urban communities — from Lafayette to other surrounding counties — put food on the table,” Keystone Chief Operating Officer Scott Logue said Friday morning during a presentation at Food Finders warehouse.
“In 2024, Keystone co-op gave back over $1.4 million in rural communities in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan,” Logue said. “In 2025, we need to do even more because the demand is even greater now.”
“What a wonderful, happy donation,” said Kier Crites Muller, CEO of Food Finders Food Bank in Lafayette. “They’ve donated more than 40,000 pounds of macaroni and cheese to Food Finders Food Bank.
“This generous donation will provide over 100,000 servings — or about 33,000 meals — to a fresh, ready-to-eat food directly to our neighbors in need.
“This is what it takes right now, and we need more and more of this,” Crites Muller said. “We so appreciate you guys stepping into the lead for this. Food insecurity is increasing across the 16-county service area that we serve.”
The public announcement was attended by local officials and state representatives.
“I wanted to take a moment and, of course, say thank you because you’re standing in the gap … to those in need,” West Lafayette Clerk Sana Booker said. “You’re helping a change to take place in the lives of children.
“We appreciate what Food Finders does every day. We thank you.”
