As the summer heats up in the South Bend area, splash pads offer residents a free and cool way to cool down.
Here are the places in the area where families can go to experience the splash pad experience, complete with sprays, waterfalls and buckets of water. Note: Mechanical problems can take splash pads off line.

Fremont Park, 1800 Fremont St., South Bend. Closes at 10 p.m.
Howard Park, 219 S. Saint Louis Blvd., South Bend. Closes at 10 p.m.
LaSalle Park, 3419 W. Washington St., South Bend. Closes at 9 p.m.
O’Brien Park, 231 E. Walter St., South Bend. Closes at 10 p.m.
Potawatomi Park, 500 S. Greenlawn Ave., South Bend. Closes at 10 p.m.
Pulaski Park, 1308 Huron St., South Bend. Closes at 10 p.m.
Southeast Park, 630 Wenger St., South Bend. Closes at 10 p.m.
Mishawaka
