ESPN reveals Colts' projected playoff chances following offseason

ESPN has officially released its Football Power Index prior to the 2026 campaign.

The Indianapolis Colts are ranked 20th, despite entering 2026 with one of the easier strengths-of-schedule in football for the second consecutive season.

ESPN’s FPI is primarily based on win totals from the betting market combined with each team’s schedule.

ESPN gives the Colts a 0.7% chance at winning Super Bowl LX. Indianapolis also has a 15.7% chance at winning the AFC South, a 5.9% chance at making the AFC Championship game, and finally a 2.4% chance at making Super Bowl LX.

Their playoff chances sit at a modest 35.8%.

The Colts will face arguably their toughest stretch of the season throughout the first month and a half of the year, which includes matchups with Baltimore, Kansas City, Houston, Washington, and Pittsburgh to start the year. Three of those five games will be on the road as well.

The Colts experienced their share of roster turnover this offseason between the draft and free agency despite losing some key contributors from past seasons, while making a number of new additions.

But how much the Colts have improved compared to last year remains to be seen. This team is banking on Daniel Jones returning to the form he established through the first half of last season.
