Did Notre Dame move up post-Purdue win in US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 4’s action?

Notre Dame finally got its first win of the year, and on Sunday morning it stayed put in the US LBM Coaches Poll after not seeing many upsets during Week 4 of the college football season.

The only three ranked teams lost, and all of them were to ranked opponents. The Irish didn’t moved despite Auburn losing to Oklahoma, Texas Tech winning over Utah, and Indiana defeating Illinois. The top teams still remained the same, as Ohio State is still ranked No. 1 following an off week. The Buckeyes are followed by Penn State, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Miami, and Texas who were unchanged in the top-7. Florida State moved to No. 8, Texas A&M to No. 9 with Oklahoma rounding out the top-10.

From a Notre Dame perspective, it wasn’t what they wanted to see, but head coach Marcus Freeman most likely isn’t worried about his teams ranking, he just wants to see his them improving. The idea situation for the Irish would have been to see a few teams ranked above them getting upset, so the help that they need didn’t come this weekend. There is still plenty of time for Notre Dame to continue to climb the rankings, but this week wasn’t one of those.
