The company is looking to hire manufacturing assemblers in Bloomington.
What about sites in Ellettsville and Spencer?
Cook spokeswoman Marsha Lovejoy said via email that those plants have positions available, but candidates for those sites should apply online, at CookMedical.com/careers.
How much money can people expect to pay?
The starting wage is $16 per hour.
What benefits is Cook offering?
Lovejoy said benefits include a 401(k) match, paid time off, career development programs and Achieve Your Degree, through which Cook pays tuition costs upfront so employees don’t need to take out student loans. “This program provides opportunities for employees to further their education while removing financial barriers,” she said.
Is Cook looking for people with a manufacturing background?
Not necessarily.
“We welcome applicants from all backgrounds — whether you’re an experienced professional or looking to begin a new career in the medical device industry,” Lovejoy said. “While prior experience in manufacturing or healthcare can be valuable, what we’re really looking for are people who are motivated, reliable, eager to learn, and team-oriented.
“A strong work ethic, attention to detail and a commitment to quality are qualities that make candidates stand out. If you bring a positive attitude and the willingness to grow, Cook Medical will provide the training and support you need to succeed,” Lovejoy said.
When can people expect to be notified about whether they’ll get hired?
Cook said qualified applicants will get a full interview and guided tour of the facility. Select candidates will get job offers that day, the company said.
