Construction is starting at major Fishers intersection. Here's what to expect

The first major phase of construction at the Allisonville Road and 116th Street intersection in Fishers is expected to begin June 1.  

Preliminary work at the intersection started in mid-April and the project is expected to be completed in October. The city had planned to build a roundabout at the intersection before nixing the idea, after crashes increased at the newly-built roundabout down the road at 96th Street and Allisonville Road. A spokesperson at the time did not directly connect the change in plans to the crashes at the 96th Street roundabout.

Now the construction at the 116th Street intersection is focusing on roadway improvements designed to improve traffic flow and safety, but it will remain a standard intersection. The city confirmed that during this phase of construction beginning soon, drivers should expect:
