Belt buckles. Have you noticed them at this year’s Monroe County Fair? Lots of the youth, and maybe some older people, are showing them off.
Photographer Rich Janzaruk noticed the buckles and photographed some of the youth’s.
Here’s some information they shared with him, and the chance to take an unscientific poll (this is for fun only) of which belt buckle people like the best.
Elise Donnelly was sporting a 2021 Lockdown Hog Drive Teen Showmanship buckle. “You put all the work in and wanna look … they look cool.”
Cali Cleveland won her Bill Schulz Memorial Youth 1D Champion buckle for barrel racing.
Gavin Lawson received his buckle as a birthday present this year. “Cowboy Up,” is what it says.
Audrey Bullman’s got her buckle at the Vaqueros Horse & Pony Mini 4-H in 2022. “I won it and that’s not cheating,” she said, eliciting at laugh from her father.
Brooklynn Wilson said belt buckles are “pretty,” adding, “I just wanted a fancy buckle.” Hers is fancy, check it out.
Embri Chilton has an E on her buckle. “It has my initial and big and gold,” she said. It was a Christmas present from her parents.
Luke Conder was wearing his favorite belt buckle at the fair on Tuesday, July 1. It’s a Kentucky Cutting Horse Association buckle.
