The Fourth of July is this week. Like most federal holidays, some services will be disrupted and stores may be operating under different hours.

The Federal Reserve considers the Fourth of July a bank holiday, meaning most banks will be closed on Friday.

Check with your local branch to make sure they are open for normal business hours the following day on Saturday.

Is the stock market closed on the Fourth of July?

Yes. United States stock markets are closed on Friday, July 4, 2025. According to the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq websites, their markets also close early (at 1 p.m.) on Thursday, July 3.
