Angel Reese suspended against Indiana Fever after eighth technical foul

Angel Reese received her eighth technical foul of the 2025 WNBA season on Wednesday night, prompting a one-game suspension.

That means the the second-year Chicago Sky player will miss Friday night’s game against the Indiana Fever, unless the league rescinds the technical.

Reese, who averages 14.7 points and league-leading 12.6 rebounds per game, received the technical Wednesday for hitting Connecticut’s Aaliyah Edwards in the head while going for a rebound.

Angel Reese comments on Chicago Sky organization

Reese has had a rough week. She expressed frustration with the Sky organization earlier this week, prompting an apology after Wednesday night’s game.

“I don’t think I’m frustrated. I’m more frustrated with myself right now. I think the language is taken out of context, and I didn’t mean to intentionally put it on my teammates because they have been through this with me throughout the whole year,” Reese said Wednesday night. “They’ve busted their ass just like I’ve busted my ass. They’ve shown up for me through thick and thin in the locker room and when nobody could see anything. I would apologize to my teammates, which I already have, about the article and about how it was misconstrued about what was said. I just have to be better with my language because I know it’s not the message it’s the messenger and understand that what I say can be taken any kind of way. So I have to be better and grow from this.”

“I am very vocal about what we need and what I want,” Reese told the Chicago Tribune, also noting she disagrees with the team’s approach to the point guard position. “I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me. But while I am here, I’m going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can.”

The Sky (10-30) beat Connecticut on Wednesday night.
